Open Pantry CollectiveFEEDING PALM BEACH COUNTY

Home / About

Started with one church van in 2009.

Today Open Pantry Collective is Palm Beach County’s largest independent food-rescue network.

In 2009, a group of neighbors in West Palm Beach noticed two things: a supermarket dumpster full of good bread every night, and a line outside a church pantry that ran out by 10am. They borrowed a van.

Sixteen years later we rescue food from 140 stores, farms and restaurants, and share it through mobile pantries, schools and home delivery. Neighbors pick their own groceries, the way anyone would at a store.

Our mission

To end hunger in Palm Beach County by rescuing good food and sharing it with dignity, choice and respect.
